Free of charge
Children who cannot pay for a course study here free of charge
Children from families in financial hardship learn English and German at no cost — the same teachers, the same materials and the same classrooms as everyone else.
How the programme works
The programme exists because language is now a condition for work and for study, and paying for a course is not within every family’s reach. Children in the programme join the regular groups — no separate groups, no separate timetable and no marker of who pays and who does not.
An application can come from a parent or guardian, a school or a social work centre. The number of places depends on how many groups run in the current school year, so we accept applications outside the enrolment period and keep a waiting list.
Programme
The terms
Short, and with no small print.
Who can apply
School-age children from families who cannot pay for a course. The application is sent by a parent or guardian, a school or a social work centre.
What the child gets
A place in a regular English or German group, the materials and progress tracking, at no cost.
What we expect
Regular attendance. If a child stops coming for a long stretch without a word, the place goes to the next child on the list.
